On October 1st, OCAR and KCI successfully held a "Sharing Best Practice" workshop focused on Kaybob unconventional shale gas resources, sponsored by EVPO Operations and in collaboration with K Companies. This workshop served as a platform for promoting knowledge exchange and collaboration among teams, showcasing successful strategies, innovative technologies, and operational improvements. The workshop included discussions on enhancing production, multistage hydraulic fracturing, managing reserves and resources, drilling extended reach horizontal wells using pad drilling technology, and the corresponding best practices. Employees of multiple technical fields employees of KPC, KOC, and KGOC participated in the event.
KUFPEC EVPO Tareq Ebrahim opened the workshop, highlighting the 10th anniversary of acquiring the Kaybob Duvernay project. The event was also attended by OCAR Manager Farhan Al-Farhan, Exploration Manager Mohammed Al-Sarhan, and KUFPEC Canada Inc Country Manager Sondos Al-Omair. KUFPEC Canada presented a short documentary on the intricate Kaybob field, its key project facilities managed by Pembina, and drilling sites operated by Ensign Drilling.
The technical sessions of the workshop were spearheaded by KCI Operations Manager Onos Ekewenu, and Senior Reservoir Engineer Sabrina Cheng, covering various technical topics. on October 2nd, a dedicated sharing session was conducted for KUFPEC HO, furthering the initiative of collaborative knowledge sharing and strengthening knowledge across the organization.
